Description
Reusable mesh bags are great for a variety of beer brewing and winemaking processes. They make excellent grain steeping bags, can be used for boil and dry hops, and can even be used to line a kettle for brew in a bag (“BIAB”) all-grain brewing. The sizes carried by Tom’s Brew Shop are as follows:
6″ X 8″
Great for additions of pellet hops during the boil. The fine mesh fabric keeps a majority of hop material from entering your fermenter. It also works well for dry hopping in the keg, with pellet or whole hops, where it retains most all of the hop matter. Perfect size for 1-2 ounces of pellets. For whole hops choose the 9×12″ size.
Bag size is 6 in. x 8 in, with hole size in mesh of approximately 0.4-0.8 mm is size. Includes draw string.
8″ x 15″
Good for steeping up to 2 lbs of grain or 1 to 2 oz of whole hops. Measures 8 in x 15 in, with hole size in mesh of approximately 0.4-0.8 mm is size. Includes draw string.
10″ x 23″
This bag has fine mesh (150 micron) and is ideal for filtering coffee, botanicals, and fine ground grains, and small amounts of fruit pulp. It also works well as an auto-siphon filter. No draw string.
24″ x 24″
Nylon mesh bag with drawstring. Measures 24 in x 24 in, with hole size in mesh of approximately 0.4-0.8 mm is size. Ideal for brew-in-a-bag (“BIAB”) applications and fruit wine making. Will line a 6.5 gallon bucket or 20-qt kettle.
